Vehicle falls into Teesta river


GANGTOK, July 27: A lorry bearing registration number WB-73/ 4438 fell into the Teesta river around 9.30 p.m. on night of July25 near the Gyelkhola area under Kalimpong sub-division. Two people ~ the driver and the handy boy ~ have gone missing. The lorry plunged about 200 feet into the Teesta river. According to police officials the rice loaded lorry was headed to a storehouse at Rangpo from the FCI godown at New Jalpaiguri. A rafting team from Melli has reached this morning and have started a search operation for the two accident victims.
