Landslides blocksThe lifeline of Sikkim

The lifeline of Sikkim NH-31A was crippled for six hours today due to the heavy landslide occurred at bhoteybhir one km from Rangpo towards Rangpo –Siliguri road. The heavy rain in the area from last night created sudden landslides around 6 am in the morning suddenly stooped the vehicular traffic totally and transhipment too.sikkim was totally cut off from rest of the country .
Some vehicles was plied via Rangpo-monsong –kalimpong and completed their destination. Between heavy rains the border road organisation has started the work to clear debris via one JCV and opened the vehicular traffic at 12pm sharp.rangpo west Bengal police has also done an appriciatable work in favour of long route bus, train and flight passengers. According to outpost in charge Mr. tamang of Rangpo west Bengal police immeadetly after the debris cleared the first preference to ply in the road was given to the down vehicles carrying passengers of long route bus, train ,flight along with Indian and foreign tourist
