Passing Out Parade of India Reserve Battalion held in Gangtok



GANGTOK: 24th June: Passing out parade of recruit constables of 2nd, 3rd IRBn and Civil Police 2011 oath taking programme was held today here at Paljor stadium. During the occasion 302 constables took oath and among them 24 2nd IRB drivers and 16 constables have been appointed on compassionate ground. The Chief Minister Mr. Pawan Chamling Graced as Chief Guest on the Passing Out Parade of Recruit Constable for India Reserve Battalion (IRB). The new recruits Battalion presented the Guard of Honour and the general salute to the Chief Minister by the Parade commander Mr. Sonam Gyastso Bhutia. The battalion also presented various skills and techniques which have been learn during the training at the Yangyang Training Center, South Sikkim and Pangthang Training Camp of East Sikkim. Chief Minister also witnesses the various physical exercises
presented by the trainees including the pipe band and Bass Band show of Sikkim Police.The Chief Minister presented the cash prizes and a token to the best performer during their training Session. The awardees are Parade Commander who won cash prize of? Rupees 15,000(Fifteen Thousand)only and a token and cash prize of Rs. 11,000(Eleven Thousand) for 2nd in charge. Rupees 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand) each was awarded for All Round performer from Both Police Training Centers.The best performer recruit constable were awarded with prize amount of Rupees 10,000 (Ten Thousand) each.The best performer from the Yangyang Training Center are
Mr. Santosh Gajmer for best outdoor performance, Mr. Norgay P Bhutia for best Indoor performer, Mr.Topgay Lepcha for best Firing performer, Mr. Ladangpa Bhutia for best cross country performer and Mr. Rizinal Chhetri for all round performance. Similarly, from Pangthang Police Training Centre Mr. Kamal Kr. Sharma for best outdoor performance, Mr. Manoj Kr. Chhettri for best indoor performance Mr. Lakpa Pempa Bhutia for best firing performance, Mr. Tika Ram Chhettri for best cross country performance, and Mr. Kiran Rai for best all round performance.

While addressing the function the Chief Minister congratulated the new recruit personal and advised to do their duties as honest police personal. He also advised them to serve for the country and the state with  dedication and responsibility leaving some foot print behind for others to emulate. He informed them that they are getting a handsome salary from the state government as compared to other part of the country. The Chief Minister also informed about the programmes and schemes including women Empowerment, Compassionate Ground Service,
Fifty-Fifty percent in the Ground of Promotion and new recruitments, Health service, Education, Tourism, Food and Rural based programmes of the government which are directly beneficial to the poor people of Sikkim. He urged the people of Sikkim to buildup a healthy, peaceful and economically sound state and convert it to a paradise in the future. He also advised to fight against corruption that is present
everywhere in the society in a multi dimensional form.
Earlier, Director General of Sikkim Police Mr. Jasbir Singh presented a brief introduction, development and functions and the duties of the Police Force and also delivered the welcome speech. The new recruit personals also display their physical exercise and technique with and without Arms and Khukari dance during the function.
The function was also attended by the Speaker SLA, Mr. K.T Gyltsen, Mr. S.M Limboo Dy Chairman, State Planing Commission, Cabinet Ministers,Advisors, MLAs, Mayor and Dy. Mayor GMC, Chairman, Chief Secretary, Secretaries and HODs, Government Officials, Parents and the families of Police Personals and the employees and officers of Police Department.
