Gangtok: June 3, 2011 : An earthquake of slight intensity, measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale, was recorded in the border region between the Indian state of Sikkim and Nepal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said here today.
An IMD bulletin said the quake, which had its epicentre a latitude 27.5 degrees North and longitude 88 degrees East, occurred at 0623 hours today at a depth of 26 km.
