Annual Prize Day 2010 of Tashi Namgyal Academy ,Gangtok held

GANGTOK-The Annual Prize Day for 2010 was witnessed here today at Tashi Namgyal Academy with the Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly KT Gyaltsen chairing the occasion as the chief Guest.

The speaker Mr. Gyaltsen in his address congratulated all the prize winners and further urged them to do better and engage in all round development, “school is a place where you can bring out the best in you, utilize you’re skills and take part in every extra co-curricular activities apart from just usual studies which ensures the all round development of the student” he stated.

Mr. Gyaltsen added saying that a leadership quality and other humanitarian qualities are all learned and practiced in school days and also school is a place which imparts knowledge about to live in peace and harmony. Also he added saying that the he himself being an Ex- Tenacian, he urged everyone studying in TNA to be proud of themselves as not everyone are lucky to be one of the few studying in this prestigious school. We live in a parliamentary democracy which gives us freedom to do and practice anything which can bring out the best in us, but it should be practiced with discipline as discipline gives rise to true democracy, he stated.

Mr. Gyaltsen further added saying that the Knowledge and success are only achieved when we imbibe true sense of honesty and hard-work with smartness.

He further stated that the students are the leaders of tomorrow and they should have a clear vision directing them to a positive outcome and hence they should be prepared for future challenges in a positive manner he added. While concluding his speech he announced a donation of fifty thousand rupees to the school for upgrading the school Brass band/ Bagpiper, and donated a sum of extra ten thousand for the school.

The principal of the school Mr. AC Rai in his address presented the annual report of the school which highlighted the achievements of the school during the last one year in all spheres, also the high and lows the schools underwent with passing year. He further expressed his warm gesture to the state government which has been cooperating with the school in every spheres, he added and also appealed the state government to do so in future endeavors.

The junior students presented colorful dance and songs during the program for entertainment and the student excelling in academics were also given away with prizes along with other special prize awards. The program also witnessed the felicitation of Mrs. T.W Tenzing, Mr. Tika Ram Sharma and Mr. Dawa Lepcha who completed their 25 years of service in the school
