Gangtok to get ‘Fashion Street’

GANGTOK, September 9: The beautification and creation of Fashion Street in Gangtok is proposed to be completed within six months time.


This was spelt out during a meeting convened by the Commissioner cum Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Tobjor Dorji with the stakeholders of Pani House area here at his office chamber.

During a meeting held for the creation of Fashion Street proposed from Lower Secretariat (Below Lall Bazaar Super Market) up to Elephant Mansion (Hotel Sonam Palgey), the proposal for beautification of the area was shown by the Joint Chief Architect, Rajesh Pradhan.

The up-gradation of footpath, etc. would be taken up on priority and is proposed to be completed within six months time, the meeting said. The stakeholders interacted with the officers of UD&HD and extended their whole hearted support to make the Government's proposal a success.
