Gangtok,Nov26: Sikkim records 16457 cases of child labour in the state.This data complies with 2001 census conducted by the Registrar General of India which also says that number of working childrens in the country is 1.26 crores.
This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour & Employment Harish Rawat in a written replyto the RajyaSabha yesterday.
It was further informed that the census conducted by the Registrar General of India is only authentic source of information on the number of working childrens.
