Sikkim Chief Minister’s Gold Cup football tourney begins today


Namchi,Nov10: The 5th All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament 2009 starts here from today, 9th November, at Bhaichung Stadium, which is organized by South District Football Association (SDFA), Namchi. The tournament will continue till 22nd November.
Of the 14 participating teams from different parts of the country, four arer from Gangtok and Namchi. Other teams of the tourney are Nepal XI, SAI Kolkota, Army XI, Mizoram, Titanium Kerela, Kolkota Customs, Mumbai FC, ONGC, Delhi National, Tata Football Academy (TFA). The four home teams are Sikkim Police, Sinolchu Namchi, SAI Namchi and Sports Academy, Sikkim.
Bhaichung Stadium is all set to host the event. The inaugural match of this 5th All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup football Tournament will be played today between the two home teams, Sikkim Police and SAI Namchi.
