Sikkim celebrates 84th birthday of Satya Sai Baba




Gangtok,Nov24 : 84th Birthday of Sri Sai Baba was celebrated by Sri Sai Sangathan of North District & Gangtok in Sarva Dharma Kendra, Balwakhani on Monday, November 23, the day on which Sai Baba’s birthday is celebrated every year in many countries of the world.
About 400 people of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist and Christian communities with 20 Mondalis participated in a rally from Chorten Monastry, Deorali, to Balwakhani. Dorjee Namgyal, MLA (Gangtok Constituency) was also present.
It is said this programme is organized to spread the wisdom of ‘Universal Peace & Environment Conservation’. The day’s programme started with ‘Rudra Mahayagya’ with a large public participation, which was followed by talks of Dr. Sonam Gyatso Bhutia, chief advisor of the organisation, Passang Sherpa, organization president of East District, who impart message of “non interference in one another’s religion and ‘protection of environment”.
Religious leaders spoke of the “message of God” and prayed for all.
