ASUSEA to elect new executive body

GANGTOK, November 14: The founder members of All Sikkim Unemployed and Self Employed Association (ASUSEA)  announced that the election for the new executive body would be held on November 29.
The Association has been tentatively dissolved till a new executive body is elected.
Addressing a press conference here today, the members termed ‘opinion clash’ between the members as the reason to tentatively dissolve the existing executive body.
“The inquiry commission, which was recently set up to investigate into the allegations levelled against two members of the association Nawin Kiran and Sonam Pintso Bhutia had concluded that the allegations were baseless,” said DB Katwal, one of the founder members. It may be mentioned here that former ASUSEA president TB Rai had alleged the duo of having political affiliation.
Mr. Katwal further announced that both Navin Kiran and TB Rai will be not entitled to contest the election for the posts of the president. At the same time, it was informed that the inquiry commission has restricted TB Rai to contest for the post of general secretary as well.
ASUSEA members further clarified that it has no link with the recently set up Swarojgar and Berojkar Sangathan, although it shares a common name of the association.
Also present were Rikshel Bhutia, Tej Bahadur Rawat, Tara Bhattarai, and Kailash Subba – among the founder members of the association.
