Army XI enters final of Sikkim CM’s Gold Cup soccer




Army XI Red thrashes RCT Nepal

Namchi,Nov20 : Army XI Red at ease thrashed RCT Nepal 4-0 in the one sided semi final match of the ongoing All India Chief Minister Football Gold Cup football Tournament 2009 at Bhaichung Stadium here on Thursday which was witnessed by a huge crowd.
The strong contender for the gold cup Army XI Red fully dominated the match from the onset of the match and kept the ball in their possession for 70-80% of the match time. The players of Nepal were found helpless in front of their formidable opponent. At the 48th minute, one of Nepal XI made a fault inside their d-area for which the referee gave a penalty. Lalming Sanga (7) of Army easily scored a goal and gave a lead of 1-0 to his team.
The spectators were expecting a return from the players of Nepal during the second half match but they disappointed their supporters. The Army players kept on putting pressure upon the opponent team and added one more goal at 72nd Minute of the match. S Raleng (10) of the team beautifully netted the goal and gave the team lead of 2-0. He continued scoring and made another goal at 75th minute changing the score board to 3-0 in favour of Army XI. The last goal was scored by LN Munda (19) of Army at 92nd Minute setting the final score at 4-0. The only yellow card of the match was flashed to No.10 of Army XI.
