Manipur in semifinal of Women's Football Championship




Gangtok,October10: Title contender Manipur today defeated Assam 4-0 to enter the semifinals of 1st Pempa Dorjee Memorial All India Women's Football Championship at Paljor Stadium here yesterday.

Striker I Prameshwhori Devi scored a brace, while M Bembem Devi and the skipper Sh Rani Devi struck goal a piece for Manipur.

With six points in kitty, Manipur will play against Sikkim 'Red' in their last league tie on October 11.

In the other match, Tamil Nadu kept their hopes alive for a semifinal berth defeating Sikkim 'Green' 2-0. Striker Angal Adolfes and substitute N Kanaga Valli scored one goal each for the winners.

In today's fixture, Orissa will play against West Bengal, while KFA Darjeeling will take on Assam.
