Dodrupchen Rinpoche performs Bhumi Puja for 108 ft Chenrezi statue




GYALSHING, October 9: Kyabje Dodrupchen Rinpoche, the holder of the Longchen Nyingthig lineage of the Nyingmapa School of Tibetan Buddhism today conducted the


Bhumi Pooja for the construction of the 108 ft statue of Chenrezi here at the premises of Sanghacholing Gompa in Pelling.

The State Health Minister DN Thakarpa, area MLA PL Subba, district officials and over 300 devotees from the entire District were present to witness the solemn ceremony.

Devotees of West Sikkim also made offerings to the Rinpoche.

The people of the headquarter area also expecting Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling to lay the foundation stone of the statue of the Lord of Compassion, it is learnt.

Besides, the Gompa management, members of Pelling Tourism Development Association had also chipped in their help to organize the Bhumi puja.
