Saraswati Vidya Niketan Celebrations in Namchi



Namchi,September20: “Education is the most important possession that a child gets as he moves into his life. Our children are talented in many fields but we are lagging behind to give them good platform and carve their talents. We should give stress on all round development and quality education so that our children’s talent can be flourish”. This was said by Namchi Singithang MLA Binod Rai in his address as chief guest at a cultural and educational programme held here at Community Hall on Sunday which was organized by Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Namchi, South Sikkim. Wildlife Cinematographer, Siddhartha Rana, was special guest of the programme.
Mr. Rai said, “Our culture and tradition are rich and we should preserve our rich culture”. He assured his full support to the organization and also gave Rs.5000 to the Solophok Orphan Home. He appreciated the work of the organization and said that our society needs lots more attention in many fields and such organizations are selflessly working for the needy child and educating them to live a good life.
Objective of the programme was to uplift Solophok Orphan Home and to promote the skills of the students in the rural areas of South District. The programme started with colorful presentation of a cultural programme by the students of Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Sisu Vidya Niketan Kabrey-Namthang, Sisu Vidya Niketan, Gurung Goan, Namchi, Sisu Vidya Niketan, Phalidara Namchi, Niz Ananda Academy, Solophok, Namchi and Sisu Vidya Niketan of Tung.
On the occasion, six persons were felicitated by the organizing committee. They are: Nar Hari Chettri and Jai Ram Gupta of Namchi, Nar dhoj Subba of Kabrey-Namthang, Nakul Pradhan of Gurung gaon Assangthang Namchi,Dhurba Shilwal of Turung and Ganesh Rai of Solophok Namchi for their selfless contribution in establishment of Vidya Niketan and help in running Vidya Niketan in different areas.
Wildlife Cinematographer Mr. Rana also addressed the gathering. He assured financial assistance to the orphans of Niz Ananda Academy, Solophok.
