CLTS workshop begins

Temi Tarku (South Sikkim): Three days’ Block Level Residential Workshop on Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) is inaugurated at Temi-Tarku Block Administrative Centre on Friday. The workshop is organized by Temi Tarku BAC with support from 6 Gram Panchayat Units (GPU). State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Karfectar is providing technical support to this workshop. District Development Officer (DDO) South, Mr.L.P. Chettri inaugurated the workshop which was attended by Mr. Satyan Kumar Pradhan, BDO Temi-Tarku BAC, Mr. Roshan Kaushik, Director of the Workshop, Zilla Panchayat members and panchayats of the six GPUs.
DDO Mr. Chettri appreciated the initiative of the BAC towards total sanitation and appealed to the participants to work with enthusiasm in view of the prestigious Nirmal Rajya Award received by the state. He also laid stress on community participation and sharing developmental work with the government.
