Chamling’s image means Sikkim’s dignity: SDF

Gangtok,Sep11: “Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling has made every Sikkimese proud through his heightened image for works in various national and international fields. His contributions in environment, tourism and such other matters earned laurels which showcased Sikkim to the country and the world that gave pride and honour to the people of the state. Chamling’s image means Sikkim’s dignity”. This is said in a press release by SDF general secretary (publicity secretary) Mr. T. N. Sharma.
The release as a rejoinder, condemns a report in a Gangtok based Nepali daily of September 10 which published a remark of Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad president Dr. A. D. Subba with insinuations about “The record of 58 awards, honour and degrees presented by national and international institutions to him (Chamling) speaks for itself.
A leader like Dr. Subba, who is totally rejected by the people of Sikkim in a democratic way, has no right to comment on these honours and awards. Better he contacts those awarding institutions to have a better knowledge about the criteria for presenting these awards”, the release said. It added, “Dr.Chamling is the only leader in whom the people of Sikkim have faith as he is above any caste, creed, religion and communal politics
