Sadbhawana Diwas Celebration at Ranka & Gangtok


Gangtok: Birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on 20th August was observed as Sadbhawana Diwas all over the country. In Sikkim it was observed at Tashiling, Secretariat here in the capital.
Addl Chief Secretary Mr. Karma Gyatso administered the pledge of Sadbhawana to the officials and staff of the secretariat, in a function organized on the day by the Home Department.


Sadvabhna Diwas and Bhasa Manyata Diwas jointly celebrated at the Conference Hall of Ranka Block Administrative Centre. It began with a rally of senior citizens, students, villagers, teachers of various villages of Ranka, East Sikkim. BDO Ms. Urvashi Poudyal was chief guest of programme which was presided by Mr. Dhanpati Pandey, a senior citizen of Ranka.
The celebration programme was jointly organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gangtok, and Abhiyan Pariwar, a group of young writers of Ranka. Poetry competition was held for students in three categories. Winners were given attractive prizes by the guests.
