Holy Cross Tadong hosts ACREIS cultural fest


GANGTOK, August 1: A one day ARCEIS cultural festival was conducted by Holy Cross School, Tadong at the school auditorium today which saw the participation of ten ACREIS member schools including the host school.
ARCEIS (All Roman Catholic Educational Institute of Sikkim) is an association of all the Roman Catholic Institutions in Sikkim and conducts this kind of programmes regularly at different venues.
Holy Cross School, Tadong is the first to host such kind of programme.
The fest had two categories – fashion show for juniors and folk dance competition for senior students. All the participating teams displayed their presentations with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The fashion show competition was based on the various themes given to them.
The judges for the programme were Enoch Lepcha, Malini Suresh and Indira Kala Sharma, all of them very experienced in their respective fields.
Namchi Public School won the theme based fashion show followed by St. Xaviers school (Pakyong) and St. Josephs School (Rhenock).
In the folk dance competition, St. Xaviers School (Pakyong) was adjudged first followed by St. Josephs School (Martam) and St. Francis School (Jorethang).
Father Noby, the principal of Don Bosco School, Malbasey gave away the trophies and certificates to the winners.
The programme was conducted and hosted by staff members, Trilochana Rai and Yumita Rai.
The Principal, teachers and students of all the participating schools were also present in the programme, informs a press release by Shyam Kumar Pradhan, assistant teacher of Holy Cross School, Tadong.
