Gangtok, Aug 9 (PTI) The Sikkim government has come under attack from the CAG for poor management of National Rural Health Mission (NHRM).
The retention of huge unspent balance ranging from Rs.
1.60 crore in 2005-06 to Rs 44.43 crore in 2007-08 indicated the failure of the Sikkim Health Society (SHS) -- nodal agency for implementation of NRHM -- to optimally use the available funds since 2005, Comptroller and Auditor General of India has said in its audit report.
The report has also pointed out that state government also failed to release its share of Rs 5.95 crore in 2007-08, indicating that it gave "low priority" to the health sector
