Sikkim CM Dr.Chamling presents budget for 15th time

Gangtok, Jul 27 (PTI) Setting up a personal milestone, Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling today presented the annual budget for a record 15th time in succession since 1994.He has been presenting the budget since 1994 ever since the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) under his leadership was elected to power defeating the then Chief Minister Nar Bahadur Bhandari's party Sikkim Sangram Parishad (SSP).Chamling has never let go the charge of the finance department during his uninterrupted run of power since 1994.Earlier, the 59 year-old SDF President had become only the second political leader after the CPM patriarch Jyoti Basu to lead his party to the electoral victory for the fourth successive term in the assembly polls held in May this year.
