Gangtok,November12 : His Excellency the Governor, Shri Sudarshan Agarwal attended the 4th International Conference on Federalism held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi from 5th to 7th November, 2007. The conference has been organized by the Inter-State Council Secretariat, Government of India in collaboration with the forum of Federation and was attended by delegates from over fifty countries including Canada, Switzerland, Iraq and Ethopia. The Conference with the theme “Unity is Diversity; Learning from Each Other” was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and the valedictory address was made by H.E. the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil with the keynote address being delivered by the Union Home Minister Shri Shivraj Patil. A galaxy of luminaries including the President of Comoros, President of the Swiss Confederation, Vice President of Negeria, Prime Minsiter of Ethopia, Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha , Union Minister for External Affairs, DoNER, Defence and Power, HE Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, Mr. Fali S Nariman, Mr. Soli Sorabjee, outstanding legal experts and Lord Meghnad Desai, an eminent economist addressed the conference
