SIKKIM GOVERNOR GETS FAREWELL PARTY




Gangtok,October18: It was a gathering of a rare kind on premises of Sikkim RajBhawan on Thursday ,October18 ,2007 , All the who's who of Sikkim has descended on Raj Bhavan The women, young and old, celebrities, socialites and the not-so-known were there to bid adieu to outgoing Sikkim Governor V.Rama Rao as his terms ends on October 24.

The event was hosted by the Government of Sikkim and also attended by Chief Minister Dr.Pawan Chamling along with senior ministers and top government officials to bid farewell to Governor Rao who in his farewell address who thanks all in Sikkim who have made not only him achieved so much professionally but also adorned the high office of the governor with great elan and dignity. He informed that he has been to 85 % of all Sikkim villages and towns during his term as Sikkim Governor in a effort to keep in touch with people at ground level.He also called upon all to derive a programme that moderate tourists flow to Sikkim to cope up with its infrastructure and facilities to avoid a breakdown by having unsustainable flow in numbers of tourists coming to Experience Sikkim.

Some of those present took this opportunity to personally express their appreciation, gratitude and admiration to the governor as they showered him with bouquets and mementos.This farewell party turn out to be an celebration and farewell to an outstanding man who is not just an achiever but a wonderful human being too.
