Sikkim CM's disproportionate assets case again deferred


GANGTOK, October 30: The disproportionate assets case against the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has once again been deferred by the Supreme Court.
The date of hearing, which was supposed to take place today, has been adjourned till further notice. According to sources, the case could not be listed today.
However, some reports have suggested that the petitioners had requested the Supreme Court for the adjournment as their counsel was out of the country.
Four senior member of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee KN Lepcha Major T Gyatso, PR Subba and Balchand Sarda had filed the case against the Chief Minister in the month of August, last year.
It may be recalled that the case had been deferred to October 30 by the Supreme Court earlier this year.
The date of hearing, which was supposed to take place on August 29, has been deferred due to the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
