Chiragh United beats Bhutan Team 4-0


Namchi,15 October, 2007 - The national football team of Bhutan has lost in the finals for the All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup against Chiragh United from Kolkata today atBhaichung Stadium of Namchi by 4-0. Bhutan boys won the semi-finals against Punjab Police in a penalty shootout 4-2, after Wangyal Dorji equalised with a goal in the 80th minute and the match ended in a 1-1draw but failed to come on scene in today's match with Chiragh United from Calcutta.

The Winners ChiraghUnited received Sikkim Chief Minister Gold Cup trophy along with cash price of Rs. 50,000/- from Sikkim Roads Minister D.T.Lepcha .Runners-up Bhutan team along with runner's up Cup got cash prize of Rs.40,000/- in closing ceremony
The cup is being played in preparation for the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) championship, that will be held in Sri Lanka in May next year.
