15 KGS COPPER WIRE SEIZED
GANGTOK, September 13: A case has been registered under section 5 (Unlawful Possession) of the IPC against the accused Sanjay Rai (21) resident of Taplayjong, Nepal, now permanently residing at 7th Mile, Makha.
While on patrol duty yesterday night at about 10 pm, the police suspected the accused and was intercepted and stopped for checking.
Following a thorough check, 15 kgs of copper wire extracted from the telephone cable was seized. The accused fled towards Sirwani side leaving the sack on the ground.
However, with the coordinated effort of the local public and the police the accused was arrested.
The case is under investigation
