NAMCHI POLICE SEIZE COUNTRY MADE BARREL GUN,ARRESTS ONE.
NAMCHI, September 14: Acting on the telephonic information from one Pem Tshering Lama of Maniram Bhangyang, Namchi Police today made a spot visit to the village.
The complainant had sought the help of the police to get rid off the nuisance created by one Uday Chettri (38), son of Karna Bahadur Chettri presently residing at Maniram Bhangyang.
When the police conducted a body search of Uday Chettri they recovered one country made short barrel gun and accordingly seized the weapon in presence of witness.
SP South informed that he was arrested at around 1:40 pm by the police. The case is registered at Namchi Police Station under section 25 of Arms Act 1959.
Uday Chettri is originally a resident of Upper Tanak Busty, Kalimpong. He will be produced before the court tomorrow and is presently under police custody at Namchi PS.
