Gangtok,Sept08: The state level Panchayat Sammelan which had earlier been announced for 13 September will be held on September 12 at Palzor Indoor Stadium,Gangtok.The Chief Minister will attend the Sammelan as the Chief Guest and it will also be attended by both the Members of Parliament ,all cabinet Ministers,MLAs,Chairpersons and Panchayat members.
Meanwhile, Sikkim Democratic Front Chelli Morcha has felicitated Sikkim Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling for his historic step in granting 40% reservation quota to women in Panchayat that would encourage women in Sikkim to join leadership initiative at the grass-root level.
Minister Smt. Kalawati Subba on behalf of all Sikkimese women have expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister who took this historic decision in favour of women and thus setting an unique example for other states in India to follow on issue of women empowerment.
