Gangtok, Sept14:Sikkim Democratic Front President and Sikkim Chief Minister addresses all Sikkim Panchayat Sammelan at indoor Palzor Stadium meeting in Gangtok on Wednesday, virtually kicking off the party’s campaign for the forthcoming civic body elections in Sikkim . However, A delegation of the the mainstream opposition political parties led by SPCC president Nar Bahadur Bhandari has met State Election Commissioner and submitted an appeal seeking delay in notifying the the forthcoming elections to the local bodies in Sikkim in view of present situation of state due to landslides,rain,road blockade which has disrupted everyday life of common man due to shortage of essential items and needs across the Sikkim.
The election commissioner has assured to look into their demands and decide on the issue after taking everything into consideration in a day or two .
The delegation also included State BJP president H.R.Pradhan,SHRP President Dr.A.D.Subba, Sikkim Sangram Parishad President RajendraUpraedi.
