Darjeeling, Sept 3: After reaching on the top three positions in Indian Idol, Prashant, surprised day long schedule was conducted by Sony entertainment for his home town, Darjeeling, it was also the big surprised for the crew of Sony entertainment, the complete turn-over of Prashants’ mass fans in Darjeeling never witnessed before.
He was received by the fans from Darjeeling hills with almost 200 vehicles from hills, when he traveled on Darjeeling Mail from Calcutta and arrived at New Jalpaiguri station, tight security was provided. He was brought up to Darjeeling in an open top jeep, he was felicitated on the way by the fans with ‘Khadas’, flowers and musical bands. It took seven hours to reach Darjeeling.
Prashant was taken to St Robert’s School for felicitation programme by his school. He also visited at Chowrastha and witnessed the cultural programme organised by DGHC, despite the fear of stampede. Later in evening, he was felicitated at the St Joseph’s ground by former councilor Mr. Bimal Gurung and his group. The programme was organised for him where he performed few numbers at the venue. St. Joseph’s ground was completely covered with mass fans of Prashant from Nepal, Sikkim, Dooars and Darjeeling hills.
He stayed at Hotel Anand Palace and left Darjeeling at 8 am on Sept. 4.
