Truck accident at Rabdang, below Sang,Sikkim

Three dies on Spot


Gangtok August 27: Three persons died on the spot when a Mahendra Load king truck slipped 700 feet down the road at Rabdang, below Sang, 35 kilometre away from Gangtok at around 5.10 P.M. on August 27. The truck was going towards Singtam carrying 4 persons including driver. The name of the deceased who is identified is Shri K.K. Mishra (about 50 years) of Ranipool, the PGT English teacher of Sang Senior Secondary School, driver of the truck and one labourer. Another labourer who was in backside trolley luckily survived. The incident happened at Rabdang 2 kilometre away from Sang Bazaar. The truck accidentally slipped at the narrow turning from Baudey bhir of Rabdang. The bodies of the deceased persons were recovered by police by 100 feet down from the spot where the truck had halted after falling 700 feet down from the road. It is learnt that Shri Misra was returning home after teaching the students and since the next day was holiday, most probably he decided to return same day to enjoy the holiday with his members of family.
