'Saino pool’ an example of Constructive Political Opposition

Gangtok: Mr. Sherhang Subba, the President of Sikkim Progressive Party has constructed a bridge as an example that oppositions are not always to oppose the government. The bridge constructed at an estimated cost of over two lakh rupees at Uttarey, under Dentam constituency, West Sikkim was inaugurated on August 16 by social worker Padamlal Gautam. The bridge given the name ‘Saino Pool’ connects Uttarey and Sopakha Gaon a village inhabited by nearly five hundred people and a primary school. The bridge also connects Bandukey, Bijuwa gaon and Kunabari village. The bridge has been constructed over Ishang River. ‘Earlier it was a primitive bridge of wooden planks, now it has been made stronger by cementing some of the part and hardwood planks’, Mr. Sherhang said. An opposition party does not always mean blindly opposing the ruling party but can also do some constructive work, he added. The bridge is 100 meter long in length.
