Siliguri, Aug. 28: The condition of NH 31A remains the same with no vehicle plying to Kalimpong and Sikkim from here through this route. However, the Darjeeling district administration is hopeful that small vehicles would be allowed to pass in a single file by tomorrow evening.
The road was blocked to traffic after a massive landslide struck at Hatisuray, 26km from here, on Saturday night.
“Since there has been no rainfall in the past two days, the chances of the road opening in the next 24 hours have improved. We had a discussion on the opening with Border Roads Organisation officials,” said Prankrishna Das, the officer-in-charge of the Sevoke police outpost.
