As usual, Chogyal Sir Tashi Namgyal Memorial Football Tournament was organised by SFA on behalf of the State Government as a part of celebration of Independence Day at Gangtok. This year one team from IISCO, Burnpur took part beside three teams from neighboring Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong. Four local clubs registered with the association including one from Jorethang also participated. The knock-out tournament was held from 6th August 2007 at Palzor Stadium Ground, Gangtok and its final was played on 15th August 2007 at same vanue. Sports Academy of Sikkim walked away with the trophy as winner.
The Independence Day Cup is played in Gangtok, Sikkim for the Chogyal Sir Tashi Namgyal Memorial Cup.
