Former MP Dil Kumari Bhandari writes to Sikkim CM

Gangtok:The Bhartiya Gorkha Parisangh has urged the Chief Minister to make immediate arrangement for a talk with ACT members, listen to their demands and resolve the problem. A letter signed by the Parisangh president Dil Kumari Bhandari, addressed to the Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling yesterday discarded the state government's contentions that ACT was instigated by the Opposition parties, commenting that such statements reflected poorly on the government authorities and its intention to resolve the crisis and issue of ACT.
Ms.Bhandari writes that realizing the threat posed by the hydel projects on their identity and their sincere commitment towards the Cause proved that the ACT was not instigated by the anyone to take a stand.
The Parisangh has also not taken kindly to the how long the issue has remained alive without reaching a solution and alleges that by spreading the wrong message through the media, the government was trying to suppress the voice of the Lepchas.
"Such conduct is highly undemocratic and unfortunate and the BGP will always stand against such attitudes."
The copies of letter have been also marked to the ACT President, the PM, the Union Home Minister and to the local media.
