DAWA & TENZING HUNGER STRIKE CALLED OFF



Gangtok: The health of leading hunger striker duo Dawa Lepcha and Tenzing Gyatso Lepcha deteriorated and Dawa was again shifted to the hospital on last weekend where Tenzing was already under medical observation and was being given nasal feeding .Both were in 63 days of their indefinite hunger strike when it came to an end here today after an emergency meeting of ACT,CLOS,etc where they have decided to withdrew Dawa and Tenzing from continuing hunger strike in view of their health as well as on considering the appeal of Sikkim CM without achieving any concrete result or a firm assurance on their demand from the Government.

ACT marked the end of the hunger strike by duo by offering a glass of fruit juice to Dawa Lepcha & Tenzing Lepcha although ACT have stated that relay hunger strike would continue at BL House.
