Bagdogra: Notice has been already issued by Central government for 23rd Central University in Sikkim and officially Dr. Mahendra P Lama is assigned as first Vice-chancellor of Sikkim University by Ministry of Human Resource Development.
On the process to implementation, Dr Lama is arrived here. During his arrival at Bagdogra, he was welcome and greeted by numerous social and political organisations from Darjeeling, Kurseong, Kalimpong & Sikkim. On his way to Darjeeling via Pankhabari, his vehicle was stopped in many places for warm welcome and greetings from the people. Chanting slogans, numerous vehicles escorted him.
He was welcome in Kurseong also by various groups of people.
