MELLI, June 14: Today morning, the Melli Police Station received a complaint from Panchayat Secretary of Sadam Suntaley Man Bahadur Pradhan who lodged an FIR against 4 persons namely Prakash Tamang (26), Damber Thapa (32), Dharma Raj Darjee (23) and Arun Tamang allegedly against attempts of violating a woman’s modesty.
According to the complainant Man Bahadur Pradhan while returning home after a meeting with his brother on June 13 at around 9.30 pm, they heard a girl screaming Sadam Dara side. Rushing towards the sound, the complainant came across a girl in miserable conditions being chased by the four accused.
The victim Ramila Gurung (21), a resident of Sadam was thereafter rescued along with her elder sister Roshna Gurung. Later it was learnt that the two sisters had came to Namchi and on their way back to Sadam had taken a lift in Arun Tamang’s vehicle, till Sadam. On the way, it was reported, Ramila Gurung asked to stop the vehicle to relieve herself, when the main accused Prakash Tamang followed her and physically abused her.
