APOLOGY OF JAGAT SINGHI ACCEPTED

Gangtok,9 June: A meeting to discuss on the matter of Jagat Singhi's remark of immigrant to Nepali was held at BL House today by Cititzen Forum. Jagat Singhi had called all Nepalese of Sikkim as immigrant and Phucchy Bhotey raja to Chogyal in his dicussion with an Editor of a vernacular daily and the entire chat was recorded in a mobile.Citizen Forum had condemn and had come down heavily against Jagat Singh's comment.Jagat Singh, however, later on asked the apology with Citizen Forum for his comment but the forum was steadfast that he should ask the apology in front of all people attended in the today's meeting. However, the forum accepting his apology went ahead to conven its meeting accordingly in its schedule. Mr. T. Lachungpa, the president of the forum said that the people of all walks of life in Sikkim were living together in peace and harmony, but such remarks would create unrest and disharmony in the state. He appealed the people not to comment such harsh remark without proper verification.The gathering in the hall was mentionable.
